Google Drive ​

What is Google Drive? ​

  • Google Drive: Google's cloud storage service for personal Google accounts and Google Workspace accounts.
  • Features:
    • Browse folders and subfolders in Google Drive.
    • Search for files by name.
    • Stream music files (MP3, FLAC, OGG, WAV, AAC, and more) directly in AN Player.
    • Stream video files (MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WebM, and more) directly in AN Player.
    • Optionally start browsing from a specific folder ID or folder path.
    • Optionally connect to a specific shared drive by ID.

Install ​

  1. Open AN Player and go to the Plugins Screen.
  2. Find Google Drive in the official plugins list.
  3. Install the plugin and open its configuration page.

Configure Plugin ​

Google Drive requires an access token to read your files. Use the button below to sign in with your Google account and get a token automatically.

Configure in AN Player ​

  1. Copy the access token from above.
  2. Open AN Player and go to the Google Drive plugin configuration.
  3. Paste the token into Access Token.
  4. Leave Root Folder ID empty to start from your main Drive root.
  5. Optionally enter a Root Path such as /Music or /Videos if you want AN Player to start inside that folder.
  6. Leave Drive ID empty unless you are connecting to a shared drive and know its ID.
  7. Tap Save.

Optional Settings ​

  • Root Folder ID: Use this if you know the exact Google Drive folder ID you want AN Player to start from. Most people can leave this empty.
  • Root Path: Use a friendly folder path like /Music. The plugin will find that folder under the root folder.
  • Drive ID: Use this only for shared drives. For a normal personal Drive, leave it empty.

If Nothing Loads ​

If your files don't appear after saving, check the following:

  • The access token may have expired. Google access tokens are temporary, so create or refresh the token and paste the new one.
  • The token may not include Drive read permission. Make sure it was created with a Drive read-only scope.
  • The root path may be wrong. Make sure it starts with / and matches folders that exist, for example /Music.
  • The root folder ID may be wrong. If you are not sure, leave Root Folder ID empty and try your main Drive first.
  • A Google Workspace account may block third-party apps. If this happens, your organization may need to approve the app.
